Some places stop you in your tracks. West Texas is one of them. This planned journey explores the heart of the Lone Star State—Marfa, Terlingua, and skies so dark you can almost touch the stars. Along the Way
These are some of the places that often become part of the journey. Each experience is shaped by weather, timing, and the group.
Prada Marfa A Prada storefront in the middle of the West Texas desert, about thirty minutes outside Marfa. No door handle. No hours. No customers. Just art, wide-open sky, and proof that the unexpected can appear anywhere.
Marfa Murals Colorful murals and unexpected art installations appear throughout Marfa and along nearby desert roads. They're reminders that creativity has a place even in the most unexpected landscapes.
Alpine & the Davis Mountains The Davis Mountains rise up from the desert floor as you approach — dramatic, unexpected, and unlike anything else in Texas. Alpine sits at their base, a small town with big character and a sky that seems endless.
Terlingua Ghost Town Terlingua Ghost Town is unlike any place you've been. An old mercury mining town left to the desert—crumbling adobe, a weathered cemetery, and the kind of quiet that feels ancient. It's one of those places that stays with you long after you've left.
Additional stops & discoveries Every journey leaves room for the unexpected—because some of the best memories aren't on a map.
How the Days Unfold
The outline below is intended to give you a sense of the journey. Every day is shaped by weather, light, road conditions, and the group—because the best experiences rarely follow a script.
Travel through this region includes routine U.S. Border Patrol checkpoints. All guests must carry a valid government-issued photo ID. If you have a passport, we recommend bringing it. Non-U.S. citizens are responsible for carrying appropriate travel documentation.
*Due to commercial operator permit requirements, this journey does not include visits to national parks, national monuments, national forests, BLM-managed lands that require permits, state parks, or other locations where commercial authorization is required. This is not an exhaustive list. All destinations on this journey are selected to comply with current access requirements.
As demand grows, SHIGEYOSHI will explore commercial use permits that may allow future journeys to include access to these areas.
